Silver Lining: Second Anniversary Video and Exhibition
from Zoom Art Class with Ellen Mandelbaum
For two years, a group of Community Church members led by artist and educator Ellen Mandelbaum have met every Thursday over Zoom. Each week, this collegial group discusses basic principles of visual art, then puts their newfound knowledge into action. The class concludes with an opportunity for each artist to share their work with the group and receive comments and feedback. The exhibition below includes original work from the group members as well as a video recorded during class. Meet the artists and hear how the weekly art class has positively impacted them during COVID isolation. To learn more about a piece of art below or make a purchase, please contact Patti Paris at parislibrary at gmail dot com.
Ellen writes, "If we learned anything during the 2020 pandemic it was that we need people. Community is good. Art is good. We have kept each other company for 2 years drawing and painting. The first class began on zoom Saturday March 14th, 2020 just a few days after the beginning of the lock down. This exhibit begins online March 14, 2022, exactly 2 years later."
