Personnel

The Personnel Committee meets regularly to review policy and procedures regarding Church staff and to consider sensitive employee-related issues brought forward by the Church Administrator or by other employees. The Committee advises on hirings and terminations and conducts exit interviews of nonministerial staff.

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CHARTER

I. FUNCTIONS AND OBJECTIVES

The Personnel Committee is charged with:
1) General oversight of personnel practices and church staffing.
2) Periodic review and updating of church’s Personnel Practices Manual and making recommendations to the Board regarding any appropriate changes in procedures or benefits.
3) Consultation in hiring, performance review, and termination of employees, as well as annual salary recommendations and extension of employment past retirement age, all as outlined in the Personnel Practices Manual.
4) Review of job descriptions and making recommendations to the Board regarding any changes in staffing configuration.
5) Such other matters as referred to it by the Board.

II. ORGANIZATION

A. Membership
The Committee shall consist of 5-6 voting members with Ministers and Church Administrator as ex-officio members.

B. Officers
The Chairperson, subject to recommendation by the Committee on Committees, is appointed annually by the Board of Trustees for a one year term. The Chairperson must be a voting member and is limited to 5 one year terms.

III. MEETINGS

The Committee meets periodically as the need arises with at least one meeting annually to determine recommendation for cost of living increases and for review of overall staffing.
